The 2023 Roussanne from the Sierra Foothills is the white wine for red wine drinkers. Its full body lends a characteristic suggestive of red wine. For 2023, we blended in 12% Marsanne - adding structure and body, giving the wine a pale gold with slight green tint, offering clarity and brightness that reflect its youth and stainless steel aging.
The aromatic profile is layered, the nose opens with notes of pear skin, baked apple, and chamomile, complemented by subtle floral tones of acacia and fresh white lilies. A hint of honeycomb and lemon balm adds complexity without sweetness, while the marsanne contributes a quiet elegance.
On the palate the wine is texturally round and energetic, the palate shows flavors of yellow plum, quince, and preserved lemon, lifted by the right amount of acidity. The stainless steel aging elevates freshness while allowing the roussanne’s natural weight and the marsanne’s minerality to shine. The finish is long and savory, echoing with hints of dried herbs and citrus pith.
